Musicians strive for the coveted No. 1 hit, not just for its prestige, but also as a defining moment in their career. It serves as validation from the public and a symbol of achievement. As such, countless musicians relentlessly pursue this dream until it becomes reality.  Yet, there are those who continue to chase it year after year without success. Despite this perceived failure, they remain some of the most gifted artists of their generation.

The achievement of a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 is often seen as a significant milestone in an artist's career. However, there are some musicians who do not place much importance on this accomplishment. Surprisingly, even some of the most famous and accomplished artists have yet to score a No. 1 hit, leaving fans puzzled. Here are three globally recognized musicians and bands who have yet to top the charts with a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bruce Springsteen
One may be surprised to learn that Bruce Springsteen has never achieved a No. 1 song. Considering he has been making music since the late '60s, this fact seems almost unbelievable. His body of work is undeniably impressive and has had a significant impact on multiple generations. With hits like "Born in the U.S.A," "Dancing in the Dark," and "Born To Run," Springsteen had ample opportunities to top the charts, but unfortunately, he has only earned 12 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 to date. It is safe to say that Springsteen has been unjustly overlooked and underappreciated. Let's unite in listening to his incredible music and show some well-deserved respect for "The Boss."

Creedence Clearwater Revival
Despite being one of the top 10 most popular bands of the '60s and early '70s, Creedence Clearwater Revival has surprisingly never had a No. 1 hit. Their music remains relevant to this day, often featured in films. However, their most well-known songs such as "Fortunate Son," "Bad Moon Rising," and "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" were not able to reach the top spot on the charts. In fact, CCR came close to a No. 1 hit five different times but fell just short each time, remaining at No. 2. While this may seem like a disappointment for such an influential band in both music and cultural movements, it is merely a minor setback in their iconic career.

Lynyrd Skynyrd
A  band that has produced numerous iconic songs, including "Free Bird," "Sweet Home Alabama," and "Simple Man." However, despite their popularity and impact on the Southern Rock genre, they have never achieved a No. 1 hit. It's disappointing that this band, one of the pioneers of Southern Rock, has never topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In fact, their highest charting song was "Sweet Home Alabama," which only reached No. 8 in 1974. It's hard to understand how most of their hit songs didn't even make it into the top 10. This can only be described as an anomaly and a great injustice to such a legendary band
