Born on January 20, 1985 in Jefferson, Georgia, Brantley Keith Gilbert is the oldest son of Keith and Rebecca Porter Gilbert. His brother Kolby, also a talented singer, is too timid to take the stage. At age 19, Brantley was involved in a near-fatal accident caused by driving under the influence which resulted in the loss of most of his memories. Writing songs has been a way for him to reclaim some of those lost memories. In 2011, the 6' singer-songwriter made the decision to give up alcohol. On December 18, 2011, he got a tattoo on his entire back as a tribute to his support for the Second Amendment to the US Constitution - the right to bear arms. The tattoo features two black antique pistols, one with his logo and the other with a cross. The wording of the amendment can also be seen below: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state; the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
